Milonga at Argentine Tango Association, Ginza, August 23, 2019 Tonight, I joined this milonga held at Argentine Tango Association, in the most busy area Ginza, 7min. from Higashi-Ginza metro station by foot. http://www.tangodance.co.jp I come to Tokyo around twice a month but since there are so many milongas, I visit each milonga actually once per half year or one year. I visited this milonga maybe the first after one year. I therefore met only a few people I know, most of them I met for the first time. It means there are many people who dance tango in Tokyo.   Tonight, there was a nice demonstration by Agata & Mariano. I heard Mariano leaves Japan to visit Copenhagen next week. Actually, various professionals come this studio for several months and change to others so you can meet many professionals. One of them was Agustina who became the world champion this time. We therefore celebrated with cheers by sparkling wines. Here there are many professional male dancers so that there are around 3 times more ladies than gentlemen. It means here is a men paradise; gentlemen, you should come here to dance, ladies are waiting. Thank you for all ladies and Agata and Midori, for daning with me. It seems a mockery of fate that the most iconic songs of Gardel and Le Pera were composed and recorded far away from Buenos Aires, and that this return, so often made out of a song, never took place." Tomate tres minutos y disfrutá de este clásico de clásicos en la versión de Gardel. ¿Se puede cantar tan lindo y sonreír tan hermosamente a la vez? “La canción sin tiempo, la que nadie recuerda ni cuándo ni cómo la escuchó por primera vez, la que cada tanto regresa a nuestros oídos para que el tiempo se detenga. Al igual que en otras películas de Gardel aquí hay una partida, un barco y un regreso, un retorno que Carlos decide abordar cantando mientras las imágenes de una ciudad luminosa vuelven hacia él. Aquella Buenos Aires de los años treinta que en este momento de su vida artística parecía cada vez más lejana. Sigue resultando una burla del destino que las canciones más icónicas de Gardel y Le Pera fueron compuestas y grabadas muy lejos de Buenos Aires, y que ese regreso tantas veces hecho canción nunca se concretó.” Felipe Bonacina.
