We keep on recalling “500 jueves. El otro Tango”, an exhibition in homage to Ana Postigo's mythical milonga, “Cocha”, at the Benito Quinquela Martín Museum @MuseoQuinquela. In this exhibition, both the photos and videos of the 15 years that the milonga was in operation were displayed. The selection was made on a total of about sixty thousand photographs and a good number of audiovisual records, both of the dance floor and the musicians. In the early days of tango, it was customary that the owner of some bar would command a musical piece in his honor or to be premiered in his place; Postigo and Cocha achieved almost a record for the genre: two waltzes and a milonga to honor Cocha’s dance floor. Fortunately, that legacy can still be embraced, with the spirit of tango as a place of encounter, of hugging, of connection and mutual support.

 

Recordamos la exposición “500 jueves. El otro tango” en homenaje a la mítica milonga “Cochabamba” exhibida en el Museo Benito Quinquela Martín @MuseoQuinquela.
Exhibición montada a partir de una selección de fotos y videos de los 15 años que funcionó la milonga y durante los cuales se acumularon entre 50 y 60 mil fotografías y un buen número de registros audiovisuales de la pista danzando y músicos tocando.
Si en los comienzos del tango era común que el propietario de algún bar encargara una obra en su honor o para ser estrenada en su boliche, Postigo y Cocha lograron algo notable y lo que es casi un récord para el género: dos valses y una milonga honran y añoran sus pistas. Afortunadamente, ese legado aún puede abrazarse, con la filosofía de tomar el tango como lugar de encuentro, de abrazo, de conexión y contención con/al otro.
